The Peninsula House in the time of Corona / Covid-19

 

 

In response to the ongoing pandemic with COVID-19, we continue to follow the latest advice and protocols of local authorities and those from the World Health Organization (WHO). Our aim is to provide a safe environment for our guests and personnel. While we understand these measures may cause some inconveniences, we ask for your patience and cooperation to help us through this period.

Together, we can and will get through the challenges we face.

 

General safety and well-being:
• All public areas, including chairs, tables, railings, etc. will be cleaned and disinfected daily using professional disinfection products and equipment.
• Hand sanitizer will be available in all public areas as well all guest rooms.
• There will be a 24-hour wait period between room bookings to allow for a more thorough cleaning of the room between guests stays.
• Special disinfection packets are placed in the air conditioning allowing all the rooms to be disinfected when in use.
• The Beach shuttle will be disinfected between trips.

 

Guests:
• All guests will have their temperature taken every time they enter the hotel (using a forehead thermometer)
• Guests will be given a sanitation kit upon check in (includes mask and hand sanitizer)
• A signed health declaration form will be required 48 hrs. prior to arrival
• Guests luggage will be disinfected upon arrival at the hotel
• Check-in and check-out will be done electronically. Bills will be sent electronically to the guests e-mail or WhatsApp.

 

Hotel Personnel:
• All our employees are informed and aware of procedures to prevent the spread on the covid-19 virus.
• Upon arrival all staff will have their temperature tested.
• They are required to report if they themselves, or any direct family or entourage show any COVID-19 symptoms.
• Each staff member will have a designated work uniform and shoes which will be left on property and washed daily.
• Masks and gloves are required when cleaning rooms, gloves changed after each cleaning.
• During service, staff are required to wear masks and wash hands every 30 minutes.
• Hand sanitizer stations for employees throughout the hotel.

 

Beach Club:
• Upon arrival all staff will have their temperature tested.
• They are required to report if they themselves, or any direct family or entourage have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms.
• Each staff member will have a designated work uniform and shoes which will be left on property and washed daily, street clothes in the workplace are prohibited.
• During service staff are required to wear masks and wash hands every 30 minutes.
• The restaurant will be disinfected using professional disinfection products
• Guests will have their temperature taken upon entering the restaurant.
• Menus and wine lists will be written on black boards.
• After a guest’s departure, each table and all chairs will immediately be cleaned and disinfected.
• The bathrooms will be cleaned regularly throughout the day, with disinfection spray and products in the bathroom for guest use.
• There will be hand sanitizer throughout the restaurant.

 

Changes in Service:
• Firstly, we have created an APP to remove a maximum of written materials in the room and throughout the property. Wine menus, drink menus, house policy, TV and DVD lists are all available on the app. This may be easily found on the App stores under the name The Peninsula House
• To limit interactions and respect distancing rules, rooms will only be cleaned once a day.
Turn down amenities will be available to guests when they go to their room.

 

Procedures if a Guest Shows Covid-19 Symptoms?
• Guests will be quarantined to their room.
• Local health services as well as other guests and staff will immediately be notified.
• Other guests will have the option to check out with no additional costs.
• Guests under quarantine will only be able to order food and drinks through room service.
• A single designated staff member will be responsible for cleaning the room, wearing a
full body suit, and using disinfection products.
• Quarantine will continue until guest test negative for COVID-19
